Song
Raised in a supportive immigrant household, my passion for singing was nurtured and celebrated. Since childhood, I've taken piano lessons, sung in school and church choirs, and attended All-State Chorus. In addition to being classically trained, I embrace my Vietnamese heritage and American nationality through song. On my blog, I share my journey as a musician, hoping to use my gift to impact communities I care about.
Science
With university research and hospital volunteer experiences, I dream of becoming a physician-scientist. As a first-generation student, I recognize the barriers that others like me have to face in academic settings. In my series, “Against All Odds,” I interview Ph.D. candidates at elite universities and learn about their journeys, with a goal of inspiring and guiding other first-generation students with these stories.
