Chelsy Do

Hello, and welcome. You’ve stumbled upon my corner of the internet where my two passions—singing and biology—come to life.

Song

Raised in a supportive immigrant household, my passion for singing was nurtured and celebrated. Since childhood, I've taken piano lessons, sung in school and church choirs, and attended All-State Chorus. In addition to being classically trained, I embrace my Vietnamese heritage and American nationality through song. On my blog, I document concerts, auditions, and my experience as a first-time choir director for Next Generation Focus' after-school program.

Science

With university research and hospital volunteer experiences, I dream of becoming a physician-scientist. As a first-generation student, I recognize the barriers that others like me have to face in academic settings. In my series, “Against All Odds,” I interview Ph.D. candidates at elite universities and learn about their journeys, focusing on their challenges and successes. My goal is for other first-generation students to find inspiration and guidance in these stories.

In Action

As my repertoire expands, so will my portfolio. It will include recordings of art songs and arias by composers such as Mozart, Handel, and Fauré. You might also find covers of contemporary pop songs and Vietnamese bolero music.
